Job description

Summary:
The Engineering Technician works directly within the Engineering Department to support our manufacturing facility. They are responsible for revamping and maintaining the portfolio of standard product models. They should have the ability to use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software and possess a strong knowledge of company product standards. The Engineering Technician is responsible for providing customers with accurate specifications for any standard request. The Engineering Technician must demonstrate strong design and basic engineering fundamentals while working with the Production and Maintenance Departments, Customer Service, and Art Department as well as other staff members. The Engineering Department spans the full spectrum of engineering from industrial design to design engineering, to manufacturing engineering, to tool design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use CAD software to generate accurate specifications and models for standard products and components
  • Maintain standard product model library
  • Generate documents for products going through the patent process
  • Use measuring equipment to create precisely dimensioned models
  • Answer internal and external engineering questions related to standard product specifications
  • Create and revise product specifications in English, metric, scaled, and written versions
  • Participate in a team environment and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with high efficiency, productivity, quality, and precision
