Senior Engineering Systems Analyst

Janicki Industries, Inc.

Hamilton, WA

Full-time

Re-posted 8 days ago

Job description

At Janicki Industries, we turn complex ideas into real-world solutions through advanced engineering and manufacturing. Our teams design and build innovative structures, tooling, and systems that support industries including aerospace, space, defense, marine, and architecture.

Across every role, from engineers and technicians to operations and support teams, our people help solve challenging problems, push the limits of design and manufacturing, and create solutions that make a lasting impact.

Department Summary

BIS team bridges engineering, design, manufacturing, and IT — translating business requirements into technical solutions, building dashboards and queries that drive program decision-making, and supporting every phase of system implementations from requirements gathering through go-live and stabilization.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Engineering Systems Analyst (ESA) solves engineering and product lifecycle information problems by analyzing requirements, configuring and optimizing CAD and PLM platforms, and recommending system controls and workflows that support design, manufacturing, and engineering operations. The ESA serves as the critical liaison between engineering, manufacturing, IT, and program management — translating design and production needs into actionable system requirements and driving continuous improvement across CAD, PLM, and design software environments.

The following essential job functions are performed as an Sr. Engineering Systems Analyst:

  • Leads enterprise-wide reviews, analyses, and evaluations of business systems, workflows, and user needs, identifying systemic gaps and improvement opportunities that span multiple programs and departments
  • Leads elicitation of requirements for complex, enterprise-scale initiatives through interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, use cases, and business process descriptions
  • Evaluates and reconciles information from numerous, often conflicting enterprise sources; decomposes ambiguous, high-level strategic direction into detailed, actionable requirements
  • Architects and leads delivery of enterprise-wide reports, dashboards, and application solutions aligned to strategic business requirements
  • Serves as the primary CAD/PLM architecture advisor, translating system requirements and technical tradeoffs across engineering, design, manufacturing, and IT leadership
  • Leads cross-functional, enterprise-wide workgroups, driving consensus and technical direction across departments on complex initiatives
  • Acts as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on information needs, delivering high-level functional and technical artifacts, use cases, and GUI/interface designs
  • Serves as a technical vision contributor for design and manufacturing platforms, partnering with developers and SMEs to shape long-term system architecture and resolve complex usability-versus-performance tradeoffs
  • Owns and governs engineering system process flows, CAD/PLM data control policies, integration specifications, configuration change records, and design data management procedures at the enterprise level
  • Leads enterprise-wide CAD/PLM implementation and upgrade initiatives end-to-end, including requirements definition, UAT strategy, go-live leadership, and post-deployment stabilization; owns CAD software strategy and upgrade roadmaps
  • Serves as engineering software trainer, advancing CAD/PLM methodology enterprise-wide through advanced training programs, automation scripts, macro routines, and integrations with other engineering systems (e.g., Kubatek, ECTR)
  • Architects advanced engineering data queries, design metrics dashboards, and operational reporting frameworks using SQL, Power BI, or PLM-native reporting modules to support enterprise program management and engineering decision-making
  • Leads enterprise-level analysis of PLM and CAD system data to identify systemic trends, anomalies, and high-impact opportunities for process improvement
  • Leads engineering and design teams’ enterprise-wide in translating complex reporting needs into structured data requirements and visual analytics strategies aligned to PLM and program management workflows
  • Owns development, documentation, and executive-level status reporting of enterprise improvement implementation plans
  • Mentors and develops junior and mid-level analysts, providing technical guidance, reviewing their work products, and supporting their growth within the analyst career path
  • Manages and priorities across multiple complexes, enterprise-wide initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines with full autonomy
  • Owns and helps evolve Janicki IS documentation standards and procedural controls across the engineering systems function
  • Works well under pressure, leading multiple high-complexity, enterprise-level initiatives to deadline
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality as a condition of employment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

  • Basic understanding of engineering design processes, CAD/PLM systems, and product lifecycle management principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Requirement of strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret engineering and design needs and translate them into PLM application and operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, or Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5 through coursework, internships, or prior work experience
  • Familiarity with basic SQL queries or experience with Power BI or similar reporting/dashboard tools
