Summary of Responsibility:

The Design & Documentation Technician has a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and creates as-built documentation packages for custom equipment installed on machine tools in the company’s tech center. This position will interface with sales engineering and the integration team leader to prioritize projects, provide input on the design, standardize designs across similar machines and options, and hand off documentation to install technicians and customers.

What You Will Contribute:

  • Technical support via phone and email to technicians installing options included in the documentation created including updating documents when required.

  • Creating and document design changes based on root causes analyses of issues in the field

  • Document electrical and mechanical systems including 3 phase power, low voltage controls, motor controls, PLC, hydraulic, filtration, refrigeration, sheet metal fabrication, fixturing, etc.

  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of option documentation and bill of materials

  • Request quotations and place orders for materials required to complete custom design work

  • In depth understanding and feedback to the company’s products, options and applications

  • This position require some travel to and from REMCO’s customer base, when required to witness final installation details required to complete as-built documents. Overnight travel may be required on a situational basis.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience or equivalent

  • Customer service and listening skills necessary to create solutions based on customer complaints and issues

  • Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical systems

  • Candidates should also possess the ability to understand drawings and schematics as well as creating drawings, schematics, and models using 2D and 3D CAD software including.

  • Ability to translate design information into clear procedures and written descriptions

  • Technical capability and problem-solving skills

Work Environment
