OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:


The Mechanical Designer ensures that CAD standards and tools are used to provide accurate and timely CAD data (3D and 2D) are completed to optimize sales, marketing, manufacturing, and profitability that is consistent with the Fulton values and operating philosophy. Works under general direction of Project Managers and Engineering teams.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work with the Engineering , Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing personnel to ensure accurate drawings are completed on schedule per requirements. CAD work will include but not limited to 3D and 2D Custom Engineered Systems, custom equipment, standard Mechanical drawing updates, etc.
  • Effectively maintain all CAD data on a central database (Autodesk Vault) using proper folder structure and naming policies.
  • Create intelligent models and drawing tools to shorten creation time for drawings and documents. Leverages the abilities of software to the best of its ability to interface with the business system and other external tools to optimize day to day business.
  • Incorporate feedback from both internal and external customers. Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve processes.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience):

  • Autodesk Inventor experience preferred
  • 3 years Parametric Modeling CAD experience preferred
  • Technical A.S., CAD Certification, or B.S. preferred
  • Programming experience in any language (C, Visual Basic, etc.) is a plus
