We're Hiring: Mechanical Design Engineer | Cromwell, CT

Ready to design products that power real-world impact? Join Hubbell as a Mechanical Design Engineer and help shape innovative solutions used across industries every day.

Design and develop new products from concept through full production launch using Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software. Responsible for solving design issues, redesigning products for improved functionality, cost reduction, and sustainability initiatives. Produce complete engineering documentation and manage multiple projects in a hands-on manufacturing environment.


 

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by: 

  • Working with other engineers or independently, developing and designing new products from concept to full production using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor). 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams or work independently to support product lines and resolve design challenges.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, reporting status and maintaining schedules.
  • Product full engineering documentation - detailed drawings, bills of materials, and engineering change notices.
  • Redesign products for improved function, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Troubleshoot production and design-related issues.
  • Assist in tooling and manufacturing process decisions, reviewing first article inspection reports.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required) 
  • 5+ years of experience in Design of Electro-Mechanical products 
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software preferably Autodesk Inventor (required) 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, high-volume plastic molding, metal stamping, and engineering materials 
  • Capability of working on multiple simultaneous projects. 
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Vault preferred. 
  • Hands-on aptitude and strong understanding of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
