Key Responsibilities:

· Design and implement mechanical systems based on approved specifications and requirements.

· Participate in developing product requirements, specifications, schedules, and feasibility studies to assess functionality and reliability.

· Collaborate with project management and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot designs, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvements.

· Conduct and support product design, verification, and validation activities to meet project milestones.

· Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, data sheets, and validation records.

· Lead and participate in technical design reviews, recommending design changes as needed.

· Perform all phases of engineering design—from concept to detailed 3D modeling and structural analysis using SolidWorks.

· Review and assess vendor proposals and drawings to ensure design integrity and alignment with project goals.

Requirements:


Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET certified institution

· 5-10 years’ experience in mechanical design

· 3 years' experience in SolidWorks or expert knowledge of other 3D CAD modeling systems; experience with COSMOS software package

· Experience designing heavy structures, including tooling, material selection, and fabrication

· Experience with subsystem integration and testing

· Ability to source vendors

· Understanding of machinery product design, verification, and validation

· Ability to read and understand scientific and technical documents
