Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of new products from concept through production
  • Create 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Analyze designs and develop/test prototypes for fabricated structural assemblies.
  • Collaborate with marketing and customer teams to translate user needs into product specifications
  • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Automation, Design for Assembly (DFA) and Packaging principles in all designs.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to evaluate materials, processes and tooling options
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product and process improvement
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards applicable to the industry (NHTSA, etc.)
  • Manage engineering change orders (ECO), bill of materials (BOM) and product lifecycle documentation (ECN)
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong grasp of principles in Structural Analysis
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Minimum of one year work experience
Preferred Skills
