Role Description This full-time, on-site role in Las Vegas, NV focuses on detailing engineering, CAD design, and CNC programming for custom exhibits and trade show environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing precise technical drawings and 3D models, creating fabrication-ready files, and translating design concepts into detailed shop drawings and CNC programs. The role works closely with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure structural integrity, material efficiency, and manufacturability of all exhibit components. The Detailing Engineer/CAD Designer/CNC Programmer reviews specifications, verifies measurements, and updates documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This position also supports continuous improvement of design standards, workflows, and digital file management to maintain quality and consistency across projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong physical design skills for structural detailing, material selection, and fabrication-ready documentation.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools used for 2D drafting and 3D modeling in exhibit or related industries.
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge applied to load-bearing structures, joinery, tolerances, and manufacturability.
  • Experience with electronic design automation (EDA) processes and familiarity with relevant design workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Cadence or similar design platforms, and the ability to integrate CAD output with CNC programming.
  • Prior CNC programming experience, including toolpath generation and optimization for wood, metal, and composite materials.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret design briefs, blueprints, and client specifications.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in exhibit, architectural millwork, or custom fabrication environments is highly beneficial.
