Job description

Design/Build General Contractor of Agricultural Facilities

Design/Build General Contractor of Agricultural Facilities is seeking a full-time Drafter / Designer with AutoCAD experience. This position is responsible for preparing project design layouts and construction drawings.

Required Skills

  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong communication, organizational and writing skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with full attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn

Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Works directly with Project Managers to interpret project direction for the development or revision of the project

o Prepares project design layout, part and assembly drawings using AutoCAD

o Makes revisions and corrections to existing drawings when requested and as needed

o Review and redline vendor drawings for approval

o Request vendor pricing

· Performs all job duties that may be requested

o Participates in continuous improvement efforts

o Communicates with other departments as required for project work

o Good communication skills including correct grammar

o Strong organizational skills and is able to work periodically with minimal supervision

o Following all organizational and area/departmental procedures, safety policies and directives as outlined

· Understand / Learn OSHA codes and laws

  • Create field installation drawings for millwrights and craftsman; i.e., platforms, transitions, spouting, mechanical components, etc.
  • Detail Fabrication drawings for manufacturing
  • Participation in construction planning and progress meetings as needed
  • Develop equipment lists
  • Filing and printing project drawings/documents according to project needs
  • Ability to interpret blue prints
  • Prepare owner's manuals as projects are completed

Work Environment:

· Duties included are usually performed in an office environment. However, the employee may need to visit the project site to gather data, information and/or evaluate issues

Qualifications:

· AAS Degree in Architectural/Mechanical Drafting and Estimating

· Minimum 12 months AutoCAD experience

· Assessment testing, background checks, education verification and drug screens are required as a part of the recruitment process.
