Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Design Engineer is to lay out bypass, pumping, and dewatering systems. This position will work closely with the estimating, engineering, and inside sales team to aid in creating visually appealing and dimensionally accurate systems based on job specifications. These drawings are used for engineering submittals, bills of materials, and field construction. This position shall also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the team's overall success.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, plans, and detailed layouts based on project requirements, sketches, and engineering inputs.
  • Maintain and organize CAD drawing libraries; ensure all files, templates, blocks, and standards are up to date, properly cataloged, and dimensionally accurate
  • Produce P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagrams) for pumping systems
  • Assemble drawings, data sheets, and other technical information provided by engineering for construction submittals
  • Keep clear and timely communication with team members to ensure alignment on project expectations and updates.
  • Proactively manage schedules of workflow to ensure projects stay on track and all deadlines are consistently achieved
  • Ensure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Drafting & Design Technology, Autodesk certified professional, or equivalent experience
  • Skilled in 2D/3D CAD modeling of complex geometry, preferably in SolidWorks
  • Ability to create and edit 2D CAD drawings using industry standard software (Draftsight, AutoCAD)
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret civil, mechanical, and structural drawings
  • Experience with Bill of Materials creation
  • Machine design experience and demonstrable mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with construction and civil projects is a plus
  • Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects
  • Proficient in MS Office and other required PC software applications
