Safe Air Technology is seeking a talented Sheet Metal Designer to join our growing Engineering team. This position plays a critical role in designing custom sheet metal components for mission critical HVAC equipment used in data centers, industrial facilities, and hazardous environments. If you enjoy solving complex design challenges and seeing your work come to life on the manufacturing floor, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Design custom sheet metal parts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings.
  • Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
  • Develop flat patterns, bend deductions, and fabrication-ready documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, and project management to ensure designs are manufacturable.
  • Review customer specifications and incorporate project requirements into designs.
  • Support manufacturing by resolving design issues and implementing engineering changes.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and standardization.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and revision control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred but not required.
  • Experience designing sheet metal components in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes including:
    • Laser cutting
    • CNC punching
    • Forming and bending
    • Welding
    • Assembly
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • HVAC manufacturing or industrial equipment experience is a plus.
