Job description

Key Position Activities

  1. Review product concepts and application requirements to design and develop new custom product iterations, or improve existing designs, by employing sound engineering principles, advanced CAD software, and innovative methodologies.
  2. Be independently responsible for design, and outputs to manufacturing for standard product configurations.
  3. Create models and drawings of custom products using CAD software.
  4. Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and technical documentation required for prototyping, manufacturing, and testing, as required.
  5. Use product design and application knowledge to provide contributions as a member of the Engineering team to facilitate implementation of innovative engineering solutions.
  6. Support engineering and operations teams with reverse engineered solutions designed to company standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work safely and courteously, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Use product, design, material, and manufacturing experience to provide the conceptualization and design of custom engineered products, or improvements to existing designs, by applying engineering principles and utilizing CAD software.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, R&D, QA, Operations) to ensure designs align with customer and production requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, BOM, and technical documentation necessary for prototyping, manufacturing, and testing phases.
  • Perform analysis to validate design concepts, identify potential issues, and optimize designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams during production, troubleshooting design-related issues, and implementing necessary corrective actions.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
      • Proven record of stable work history and exemplary attendance.
      • Proven engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
      • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools.
      • Proficiency with ERP system functions required for Engineering processes.
      • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proficient with engineering software and systems.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate records.

      Preferred

      • Manufacturing industry experience.
      • 5+ years of Design Engineering experience.
