Job description

Summary:
We are representing a well-established, multi-discipline civil engineering and surveying firm seeking a Senior Civil CAD Drafter with strong land development experience to support site development projects across the greater Central New Jersey region. This role is ideal for an experienced Civil 3D professional who enjoys detailed production work and wants to contribute to a steady pipeline of commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
This position plays a key role in translating engineering concepts into high-quality construction documents, supporting Project Engineers and leadership across grading, utilities, and site layout design. The ideal candidate brings deep Civil 3D expertise, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset within a fast-moving design environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed civil site plans for land development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Develop grading, drainage, and erosion control plans
Produce utility layouts including sanitary, storm, and water systems
Create plan and profile sheets, cross sections, and construction details
Coordinate drawings with survey, environmental, and engineering teams
Apply municipal and agency CAD standards across multiple jurisdictions
Implement redlines and revisions with strong quality control awareness
Support multiple active projects while maintaining production deadlines
Qualifications:
8โ€“10 years of CAD drafting experience with a strong focus on land development
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Demonstrated experience producing grading, drainage, and utility plans
Strong understanding of civil site development standards and workflows
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a production-driven environment
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Comfortable collaborating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams
Experience working within municipal design standards preferred
