Job description

MSIS COURSE/WORK CODE(S):
751045 - Responsible for providing hardware/software and/or network support.
Required Endorsement(s): None
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair desktop PCs and peripheral devices.
2. Must have advanced knowledge of all versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
3. Must be familiar with LANS and network topography.
4. Must be familiar with Microsoft network operating systems.
REPORTS TO:
Technology Specialist, Technology Coordinator, and/or Superintendent's Designee
JOB GOALS:
To maintain computer equipment in all schools and central office; provide software, hardware, and network support as needed, assist district technology personnel in providing technical support including, but not limited to repairs, replacements, and upgrading of equipment, and to assist teachers in integrating technology into the curriculum.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
2. Maintain a professional relationship with vendors and hardware/software manufacturer's support personnel in order to get phone or onsite support as needed.
3. Package and return items and send through appropriate carrier.
4. Follow district procedures for fixed assets inventory tracking.
5. Provide software support to teachers and administrators as needed.
6. Verify that critical data is being backed up.
7. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot new workstations, software, and peripheral equipment.
8. Implement a schedule to visit all four schools at least once per week to help with computer issues.
9. Provide assistance to the district computer systems specialist as needed.
10. Maintains and troubleshoots district website.
11 . Assist teachers in locating and using Internet resources and educational software programs in the classroom.
12. Perform computer maintenance activities including antiviral updating and scanning, defragmenting hard drives, and scanning disks for errors as needed.
13. Prepare computers for the opening and close of school as directed by the Technology Specialist.
14. Provide software support to teachers and administrators as needed.
15. Install new computers, peripherals, and software.
16. Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the District Technology Specialist and/or Superintendent's Designee may assign from time to time.

Working conditions are normal for an employee in an office/technology warehouse environment.
