Job description

As a Compressor Analysis Engineer, you play a critical role in analyzing and evaluating the feasibility of our engineered to order centrifugal compressor designs for applications and aftermarket needs. Your work focuses on performing aerodynamic and mechanical calculations, sizing key components, and preparing engineering documentation to support design and production. By leveraging your analytical skills and attention to detail, you ensure designs meet performance requirements and align with internal standards. You will report to the Analytical Manager.

You will

  • Analyze and evaluate compressor aerodynamic performance and re-rate existing designs based on prior data and new requirements.
  • Size and select mechanical rotor components such as bearings, seals, and gearing.
  • Design compressor aerodynamic components including impellers anddiffusers.
  • Work extensively with numbers, calculations, and spreadsheets to support engineering decisions.
  • Prepare engineering documentation for preliminary aerodynamic and mechanical designs
  • Collaborate with global teams, including applications and aftermarket groups, to support business needs.

To succeed, you will need

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering
  • 0–2 years of experience (internships, co-ops, or project experience welcomed)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and data analysis)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex calculations
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programming experience (Python, C++, VBA)
  • Familiarity with SAP or Bill of Materials (BOM) systems
  • Exposure to manufacturing or mechanical systems (e.g., robotics, Formula SAE, Baja)
