This position is 100% remote, allowing licensed professionals the flexibility to work from home while accessing the resources necessary to provide excellent clinical care. You will collaborate with a diverse team of mental health professionals, sharing best practices and innovative approaches via telehealth platforms. Our telehealth facility boasts the latest technologies that facilitate seamless interaction with clients and support robust documentation processes.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to accurately identify and address specific care needs and emotional challenges.
• Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions tailored to the experiences of seniors, focusing on coping mechanisms for grief, loss, and age-related transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including nurses and social workers, to devise comprehensive care plans that promote holistic well-being.
• Educate family members and caregivers about effective strategies to enhance the emotional health and quality of life of their elderly loved ones.
• Implement grief recovery strategies and loss counseling sessions to support clients and families facing end-of-life issues.
• Initiate cognitive stimulation programs and evidence-based mental health interventions aimed at fostering mental acuity amongst older adults.

Our primary focus is the geriatric population, including elderly individuals experiencing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. Candidates will engage with clients dealing with the emotional and psychological impacts of aging, providing a supportive environment tailored to their unique needs and experiences.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of four years of experience in the field of geriatric mental health and counseling.
• Demonstrated proficiency in individual and group therapy methodologies specific to the elderly demographic.
• A strong understanding of evidence-based practices and ethical considerations in geriatric mental health.

• Specialized training or certifications in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.

• Familiarity with telehealth systems and documentation practices.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly in engaging with elderly clients and their caregivers.
• Demonstrated empathy and cultural sensitivity to accommodate diverse client backgrounds.
