Job description

The Composite Technician II role presents an opportunity for the right individual to join RCL's Composites team. This position directly supports the PIC (Person in Charge)/ Team Lead and is expected to actively participate in repairs and help with the day-to-day success of the team.
  • Travel 100% of the time, which may include composite part fabrication at our main shop. 6 day/ 60-hour work weeks are typical.
  • Prioritize a safe work environment. This includes participating in a daily "Plan of the Day" (POD) meeting with the crew and understanding the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) before starting work. Safety is the top priority at RCL.
  • Work at heights for external repairs or in confined spaces for internal repairs. You must be able to execute repairs confidently at extreme heights and in restricted spaces.
  • Clean and organize material trailer. Maintain trailer inventory and communicate consumables needs to PIC in a timely manner to stay ahead of material needs.
  • Must be able to work effectively on a team. Follow verbal or written instructions from PIC, Supervisor, and management.

Requirements
  • Must be able to competently use a grinder to scarf fiberglass layers and be able to visually identify ply layers/ types of fiberglass.
  • Solid understanding of the lamination process, including vacuum consolidation and post cure.
  • Accurate fiberglass and chemical preparation.
  • Properly setting up 360 Platforms and 2M Baskets, including daily Platform and Rigging Inspections.
  • Tower rigging for suspended platform access and tag line operation.
  • Ability to perform quality composite repairs following RCLs standards and/or written work instructions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a ¾ ton truck while towing a trailer.
  • Good foundational knowledge of safe working practices and PPE for composite repair work.
  • Must align with RCL's Safety and Quality Culture.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of integrity.

  • Education: High School Graduate, GED, or relevant technical school
  • Experience: 2+ years of composite repair experience.
  • Required Language: English: multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Certificates & Licenses: GWO, OSHA 10, BST, ART, CoHe, and BTT: RCL's GWO-certified training department issues all necessary certificates on an annual basis.
