Job description

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an Engineering Technician. The Engineering Tech assists in the technical production processes associated with machining, composite fabricating, finishing or assembling composite tooling, metallic tooling or production parts or robotics. This includes proficiency in Metrology and understanding of Aerospace finishes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in the completion of End Item Deliverable to meet Work Order Specifications, as well as advise, instruct, and direct the Production Technicians in completion of the same
  • Has knowledge and understanding to approve Pattern, Tool, or Production parts; surface condition, metrology reports, and tolerances, in lieu of PM buy-off on the Work Order
  • Understands and inspects workpieces with GD&T
  • Reviews engineering drawings, project instructions and blueprints to obtain specifications, procedures and objectives as needed to accommodate Production
  • Works with Cell Manager to identify and mitigate risk in the production process
  • Maintains heightened awareness of the project schedule for each project as it moves through the value stream in order to meet key project deadlines
  • Complies with Safety, 5S, AS9100, Nadcap Standards and Practices and others as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of your job

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • An associate's degree in manufacturing engineering/engineering technology, Composite/Material Science, Industrial Design Technology, or a similar field is required
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products and SAP; some experience with Catia and/or Unigraphics is desirable. One-year preferred working as a JI Production Tech (similar Manufacturing experience may be substituted) with proven understanding of JI procedures and processes
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the fields' concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $22 - $48 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
