What does a compliance analyst do?

A compliance analyst is responsible for ensuring that an organization adheres to legal regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. They review processes, conduct audits, and implement controls using tools like compliance management software, often requiring knowledge of relevant laws and certifications. Their work helps prevent violations and reduces organizational risk.

How much do compliance analysts make a year?

Compliance analysts typically earn a median annual salary of around $60,000 to $80,000, depending on experience, location, and industry. Senior or specialized compliance analysts with certifications like CRC or CCEP can earn higher salaries, often exceeding $100,000 annually.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Compliance System Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Compliance System Analyst, you need a solid background in regulatory compliance, data analysis, and information systems, often supported by a degree in business, IT, or a related field. Familiarity with compliance management software, data analytics tools, and certifications like Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) are common requirements. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication help professionals excel when interpreting regulations and collaborating with stakeholders. These skills are crucial to ensure organizations meet regulatory obligations, mitigate risks, and maintain operational integrity.

  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and deliver results with limited supervision.

  • Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs.

Preferred Attributes
