Job description

Job Purpose

The Risk & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for the administration of Liliuokalani Trust’s Risk and Compliance Department. This position provides support to the Risk and Compliance Director primarily in the areas  of risk management, compliance administration, contract administration, as well as administrative duties. The Risk & Compliance Coordinator provides support at the paraprofessional level in the form of technical documents preparation and review in support of risk prevention, compliance administration, and contract administration activities. This role is responsible for performing related compliance and risk management research, administrative and analytical work, proposing standard processes and procedures, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with these activities and as required by compliance rules. The Risk & Compliance Coordinator must be able to identify and understand issues, challenges and opportunities in order to draw conclusions, identify best course of action, and proceeding in a manner that is consistent policies and procedures and in full consideration of available facts, limitations, and potential consequences. In lieu of Risk & Compliance Director, Contracts Manager, and Safety Program Manager, the Risk & Compliance Coordinator will handle inquiries of a routine nature and relay more complex issues to the Director, Manager(s) or appropriate Leadership teammate as appropriate.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Risk and Compliance Administration

  • Performs research as assigned, including both library and internet-based research to ensure contracts and operations are aligned and compliant with regional, industry, state, and federal regulations as well as Liliuokalani Trust policies and procedures. 
  • Creates tracking systems and procedures to ensure all compliance documents are up to date in accordance with set timelines. 
  • Collaborates with teammates to gain overarching understanding of Liliuokalani Trust operations and need for standard operating procedures on the area of compliance maintenance. Partners with other Liliuokalani Trust leaders to draft Standard Operating Procedures proposals and process tracking systems. 
  • Under direction of Risk and Compliance Director, evaluates tracking systems and procedures to verify effectiveness and accuracy of operations as well as identifying areas for improvement and corrective action. 
  • Maintain risk and compliance documents in compliance with Liliuokalani Trust procedures.

  • Contributes to Liliuokalani Trust’s success through collaboration, communication, and knowledge-sharing with all teammates to improve team and organizational results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

 

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal/Legal Studies or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Preferred, Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of office experience.
  • At least one year of risk, compliance, and/or contract related experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications:  Word, Excel and PowerPoint and experience.
