Job Duties and Responsibilities

The EchoStar Operations Manager is responsible for the overall success of a specific business office or facility. You oversee a complex operation that includes fleet management, inventory control, and a large team of Field Service Managers and Technicians. Your goal is to drive high-quality installations and repairs while maintaining strict safety and budgetary standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all employee activity to achieve key performance goals, including CSAT (Customer Satisfaction), "First Time Right" metrics, and technician productivity
  • Review financial statements, sales reports, and activity data to identify areas for cost reduction or program improvement
  • Implement departmental policies and goals in alignment with EchoStar’s broader mission to "reimagine the future of connectivity"
  • You don't just manage technicians; you lead the managers who lead the technicians; you are responsible for hiring, mentoring, and evaluating Field Service Managers
  • Ensure all staff are up-to-date on changing technologies (Satellite, 5G, Smart Home) and safety protocols
  • Foster an inclusive, high-energy work environment that balances a "Mission First" mindset with employee empathy
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of a large fleet of company vehicles
  • Manage the movement of goods (dishes, routers, cables) into and out of the facility to ensure 100% equipment availability for daily routes
  • Maintain the physical site, including safety compliance and environmental sustainability programs
Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university strongly preferred
  • 2 years management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong leader with management experience

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong competency in leading, developing, mentoring, and coaching
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to obtain an elevated understanding of processes, procedures, and responsibilities performed by direct reports
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, work in small spaces and/or in all climates, and safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to climb a 40 Ft. ladder safely; employee, including any tools or equipment that is carried, must be able to remain within the weight requirements of either the 300-pound ladder or the 375-pound ladder (the fall protection equipment capacity is 310 pounds and the tools are 40 pounds)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including 45+ hours a week, including weekends

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
