Job description

General Description

HR Manager is responsible to oversee Human Resources, facilitating effective, timely and compliant processes including hiring, onboarding, discipline, and terminations. Specifically:

  • Coordinate with VP of Faculty Training & Development to maintain and improve HR policies
  • Assist with submitting required HR and benefits regulatory filings on time
  • Assist with the preparation of payroll and help manage benefit administration and regulatory matters
  • Support leadership with sensitive HR matters such as key personnel transitions, staff discipline and terminations; maintain compensation framework and facilitate hiring process
  • Assist staff with benefits and HR topics
  • Advise supervisors on scheduling and efficient use of hourly labor
  • Serve on Safety Committee; Investigate and document staff and student safety incidents and serve as contact for Workers Compensation
  • Assist VP of Faculty Training & Development with processes and programs for staff hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, and development
  • Continuously improve HR processes and seek feedback from organizational customers
  • Manage personnel data and files (paper and electronic)
  • Liaise with the HR Management Firm and Health, Retirement, and Insurance providers
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate Substitute Coordinator
  • Teach one class

Qualifications: Business and staff management experience. Proficiency with Microsoft technology suite, web-based data systems, and digital security. Experience in one or more of the following: Higher Education, Classical Education, non-profit, or sectarian organizations. Friendly personality, great communication skills and a proactive customer service approach to responding to issues raised by staff and vendors. Detail orientation, confidentiality, and motivation to seek cost-effective approaches. Willingness to “roll up one’s sleeves” and do what is needed. Interest and experience in teaching or coaching K-12 students.

Reports To: VP of Faculty Training & Development

Salary Classification: Full-time, non-exempt, twelve months

Supervision of Others: Sub Coordinator

Hours Per Week: 40+
