Job description

AY2627 Peer Mentor - Compass Program (Non-Work-Study)
The Compass Program is a 4-year inclusive post-secondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Compass enables students to achieve their academic, career, and personal goals through a supportive, person-centered approach: https://www.duq.edu/academics/colleges-and-schools/health-sciences/academic-programs/compass-program.php
Compass is currently hiring peer-mentors for AY 2026-2027. This is a paid position that offers mentors flexibility of schedule, with most staff typically working about 5 hours a week on average.
Peer-mentors accompany Compass students to classes, support them in tutoring sessions and supporting course assignments, as well as social hangouts and encouraging socialization throughout the campus community. Prior experience supporting individuals with IDD is not required and training is provided for all new and returning staff,
The mentoring position is a wonderful paraprofessional/entry-level position for undergraduate and graduate students as it offers a variety of experiences which can support future career trajectories.
