Employment Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday | Overnight Shifts
Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking a reliable and professional Security Officer to support overnight operations at a critical infrastructure facility in the Nederland area. This position is responsible for assisting with site access procedures, monitoring vehicle traffic, supporting gate operations, and helping maintain a secure environment throughout the property.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working in varying weather conditions. This role requires regular communication with vendors, contractors, site personnel, and visitors while ensuring established security procedures are always followed.
Because this is an overnight assignment at a critical operations facility, officers must remain alert, responsive, and capable of making sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control & Traffic Management
  • Assist with monitoring vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility
  • Support gate operations and visitor processing procedures
  • Verify access authorization in accordance with site requirements
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel
  • Direct traffic flow when necessary to support safe site operations

Security Operations
  • Maintain a visible security presence throughout assigned areas
  • Conduct routine inspections of designated locations and access points
  • Monitor for unauthorized activity, safety concerns, or policy violations
  • Report suspicious behavior, security incidents, or operational concerns promptly
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with facility security protocols

Incident Response
  • Respond to security-related situations in a timely and professional manner
  • Notify supervisors and site representatives of incidents requiring attention
  • Follow emergency response procedures and site-specific instructions
  • Support operational continuity during unusual or elevated activity levels
  • Document incidents and observations accurately

Communication & Documentation
  • Complete daily activity reports and security logs
  • Maintain accurate records of visitor and vendor interactions
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, site personnel, and fellow officers
  • Provide shift updates and relay important operational information
  • Follow company reporting standards and documentation procedures

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Reliable personal vehicle required
  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle in snow, ice, and other challenging weather conditions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to pass required background screening

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in security, gate operations, access control, or traffic management
  • Experience working at industrial, utility, energy, construction, or critical infrastructure locations
  • Familiarity with incident reporting and documentation procedures
  • Experience interacting with vendors, contractors, and site personnel

Licensing & Certification Requirements
  • Must possess a current Security Guard License (SGL) or be willing and able to obtain one prior to assignment
