This position is based in Prairie City, Oregon.
The Fisheries Technician III- Field Crew Lead will coordinate day-to-day tasks on conservation properties with focal points on noxious weed control, grazing and irrigation management, public interactions, monitoring, and leading a crew of technicians to accomplish maintenance and project tasks. The employee must be able to build relationships within the community, agencies, organizations, and the Tribes. Once oriented to the job, the position requires the candidate to have multiple skills and problem-solving aptitude. Experience in the operation of heavy equipment (i.e. Backhoe, Mini-excavator, and compact loader) is a must.
Requirements
Must have a natural resources background, ideally in horticulture, botany, plant ecology, or closely related field with an associates in horticulture, natural resources, or related field and six months of greenhouse, nursery, or plant propagation experience; or a minimum of three years experience in greenhouse or nursery setting with a strong proficiency in knowledge and skills. Have a strong interest in plants and restoration, able to work independently and in a team setting. Ability to obtain a pesticide applicators license with 12 months, have a valid driver's license and pass a drug test.
