Job description

Overview
As the Manager of People, Empowerment and Connections, you will focus on organizational culture development, program development and management, and internal training to further our commitment to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace. We believe creating an inclusive work environment for all employees strengthens our teams and leads to innovative solutions that drive our success. Your role will involve collaborating with departments to develop and implement strategies that foster a more inclusive workplace. You work closely with leadership to drive cultural change and create opportunities for all employees and customers to thrive.
Essential Duties
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement a program that sets strategies for creating a more inclusive organizational culture to strengthen the employee and customer experience. Apply change management principles to strategy implementation.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on PEC related matters by building shared understanding, addressing bias, and fostering inclusive leadership practices.
  • Provide agency leadership for the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs of different departments and levels within the organization. Design and deliver workshops, seminars, and other learning opportunities to promote awareness and understanding of issues. Develop and implement agency-wide initiatives to create a shared understanding of the connection between an equitable and inclusive culture to employee success.
  • Leverage processes and programs to integrate PEC principles into recruiting and onboarding processes and ongoing, professional development and career growth. Monitor employee life cycle processes to meet equal opportunity guidelines that prevent unconscious biases. Partner with colleagues to help provide a PEC lens and promotion to initiatives.
  • Accountable for PEC performance outcomes and for driving data-informed improvements to achieve agency-wide goals. Define, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and assess measurements to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programs and initiatives.
  • Supervise the work of assigned staff, prioritize, and assign work. Set goals and evaluate performance, providing timely and appropriate feedback, coaching, and recognition. Identify training and professional development needs and monitor progress. Make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Promote Community Transit's core values in all staff programs and activities.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on training and organizational culture development.
  • 3 or more years of experience partnering with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to drive cultural change.
  • Education is typically associated with a bachelor's degree in human resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.

An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties is also accepted.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Master's degree in human resources, Organizational Development, or a closely related field.

Working Conditions
Hybrid telework may be available. Availability is at management discretion and may not be available for this position based on the nature of the work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the use of office equipment and technology. You will be required to move throughout and between different office buildings and may need to complete tasks in noisy environments. You may also be required to lift and carry materials up to 10 pounds occasionally
