This is a Full Time professional position on a residential campus and is responsible for various duties to include:

  • Will work as a member of the food services team to provide nutritional meals and safeguard the health residential clients, staff and visitors.  
  • Prepares and serves food in accordance with established menus 
  • Monitors the use of food and prepares additional quantities as needed
  • Properly stores dietary supplies according to department procedures
  • Note any safety issues which will require immediate notification of Program Coordinator or School Office
  • Participate in Monthly Environment of Care inspections and ensure compliance with Joint Commission Standards of care.

Devereux GA Hampton facility is a residental faciltiy for female adolescents ages 10-21.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  High school graduate or equivalent. Additional training in food preparation preferred. Must be able to read at 12th grade level. 

EXPERIENCE:  At least one year food preparation experience in an institutional setting. Previous experience with the National Lunch Program is preferred. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, walk, run, stoop, kneel, push/pull 

and reach above shoulders.  

Other Requirements:

  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, Physical Abilities Test, TB Test and Influenza Vaccine

  • Valid driver's license
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
