Job Summary

The Government and Community Relations Student Assistant will support the Government and Community Relations team in campus, government, and community engagement. Work directly with directors of government and community relations to coordinate civic engagement activities with campus stakeholders. This position will also assist with social media, events, virtual events, and civic engagement work.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Position Includes assisting staff:

  • Assist with scheduling and preparing for meetings for the civic engagement working group meetings
  • Create website and social media content for official civic engagement working group outlets
  • Assist staff with spreading information about voting resources
  • Work on event-related guest lists, invitations, prep, and day-of event support
  • Prepare postings for Titan Advocates' social media vehicles with a goal of increasing engagement and followers

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
