VACANCY NOTICE

THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT

TITLE: RN Nurses for MPS Community Programs*

Programs' hours: Mondays through Fridays 7:00 a.m.- 7:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. (most school days); Full-day vacation weeks: 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required as needed by the Program Manager of Community Programs. Programs to run through the 2026-2027 school year, including Feb. & April vacation weeks (Tues.- Fri.), professional development/or 1/2 days (most appx. 6.0 hours), possibly delayed openings, and parent conference days. (Programs may include: Rangers Club, 21st CCLC Program, STEAM Enrichment, Homework Club, etc., typically based out of one school.)

DATE OF OPENING:  August 24, 2026 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Team-oriented registered nurse from a public school system, with prior experience in before & after school program(s) or other out-of-school time program(s) preferred
  2. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, attendance record, and disposition
  3. Successful experience working collaboratively with other educators, including teachers within a public school district, e.g., MPS
  4. Experience working with K-12 students, including those who may be SWD, struggling, or at-risk

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee all health issues, e.g., Covid, of the programs under MPS and program handbooks, including School Health and Medication Policy; must be team-oriented; excellent attendance required
  2. Dispense medications and manage and maintain programs' health records
  3. Communicate with/travel among all schools, as needed (no addtl. funding for mileage)
  4. Maintain communications with parents, program manager & staff, regarding program and/or students
  5. Travel on field trips or delegate, as needed
  6. Perform EpiPen training and other duties as needed/required by program administrators
  7. Meet with the program administrators to discuss health/concern issues regarding students
  8. Maintain required documentation and communication with program administrators and staff, as needed, regarding particular health issues pertaining to the programs
  9. Submit reports accurately and in a timely manner as required by the program administrators

  *Position may be split at the discretion of the Program Manager

SALARY:   $40-$42/hour
