Job Title:DF AY26/27 PUENTE Program Manager AssistantJob Description:The PUENTE Program Manager Assistant will serve as the Program Manager's primary student at point of contact and support in the planning, development, and implementation of PUENTE programming. This position provides a unique opportunity for a Community for Belonging (CoBe) Work Study student to take an active role in strengthening the PUENTE community while developing professional skills in leadership, program coordination, outreach, recruitment, marketing, and student engagement.
As PUENTE is housed within the Community for Belonging (CoBe) and supports first-generation and first-generation-minded students pursuing pre-nursing and nursing pathways, the ideal candidate will be passionate about student success, creating inclusive communities, and supporting students as they navigate their academic and professional journeys. Previous experience in nursing or pre-nursing is not required; students who are interested in learning about the pre-nursing and nursing pathways are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support & Planning: Work closely with the PUENTE Program Manager to plan, coordinate, and implement academic, professional, social, and community-building programming throughout the academic year and summer program.
Program Development: Contribute student perspectives and ideas to strengthen PUENTE programming, identify opportunities for student engagement, and assist with developing new initiatives that support student success and belonging.
Outreach & Recruitment: Assist with outreach and recruitment efforts by promoting PUENTE to prospective and current students, participating in recruitment events, supporting information sessions, and serving as a student ambassador for the program.
Cohort Building & Student Engagement: Help foster meaningful connections between PUENTE cohorts by organizing and supporting bonding activities, peer engagement opportunities, and events that promote community, mentorship, and belonging.
Marketing & Communications: Assist with creating flyers, promotional materials, social media content, and other communications using platforms such as Canva. Support efforts to increase awareness and visibility of PUENTE programming.
Campus Outreach & Representation: Represent PUENTE at tabling events, campus programs, recruitment activities, and other outreach opportunities while communicating the program's mission and resources to students and campus partners.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including data entry, maintaining Campus Groups, organizing program materials, tracking participation, and supporting day-to-day program operations.
Student Leadership & Advisory Support: Participate in advisory teams, committees, and program planning conversations as appropriate, providing valuable student insight and perspective.
Research Opportunities: Students interested in research may have opportunities to assist with research projects related to first-generation students, nursing pathways, student success, belonging, or other areas aligned with PUENTE and CoBe initiatives.
Peer Support & Mentorship: Serve as a welcoming and supportive peer resource for PUENTE students while helping connect students with appropriate campus resources, opportunities, and program support.
Event Support: Assist with the planning, preparation, execution, and follow-up of PUENTE events and activities throughout the academic year and summer programming.
Professional Development: Develop transferable skills in leadership, communication, event planning, marketing, recruitment, program development, teamwork, and project management.
Work Expectations
Students will work scheduled office hours based on student availability and program needs and will participate in bi-weekly staff meetings at a mutually determined time. The student will be expected to work independently with limited supervision, demonstrate initiative, communicate effectively, complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, and maintain professionalism when representing PUENTE and CoBe.
