Day to day as a Certified Medical Assistant

As a new Certified Medical Assistant at Fox Valley Medical Associates, you can expect a dynamic and fulfilling daily routine centered around patient care and support. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for examinations, assisting healthcare providers during procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation of medical histories. You'll also play a vital role in managing patient flow and addressing inquiries, which fosters a customer-centric atmosphere.

Your typical schedule will be Monday to Friday, working 4-5 days per week, with occasional Saturday mornings as needed. This structure allows for a work-life balance while immersing yourself in a high-performance environment. Each day will present unique challenges, all while working alongside a collaborative team focused on delivering excellence in healthcare.

What we're looking for in a Certified Medical Assistant

To thrive as a Certified Medical Assistant at Fox Valley Medical Associates, a blend of technical and interpersonal skills is essential. A valid Certified Medical Assistant certification and CPR certification are foundational prerequisites. Proficiency in phlebotomy, specimen collection, and EKG administration is crucial for providing quality healthcare support. You will also need to demonstrate competence in medication administration, including oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes. Strong patient scheduling and appointment coordination skills, along with insurance verification knowledge, are necessary for ensuring seamless office operations.

Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) is vital for accurate documentation and patient data management. Excellent written and oral communication skills will enable you to educate and engage with patients effectively. Additionally, Spanish language skills are preferred to enhance communication with a diverse patient base.
