JOB SUMMARY

Working as a Marketing Intern, you'll collaborate with on-site operations, culinary and nutrition team members to execute student experience programs. Areas of responsibility include the cafeteria environment (decor, signage and merchandising), student engagement and nutrition education programs, hospitality, and promotions.

You'll partner with the school district's communication team to engage and inform key stakeholders - clients, school staff, parents and students.

Excellent communication skills are essential, along with solid strategic thinking and a service-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute marketing programs in partnership with operators and regional support teams to ensure continued engagement from student, clients and communities
  • Train and support operators in the implementation of student-facing and front-of-house programs, systems, and processes
  • Customize marketing materials - e.g. social media posts, flyers, brochures and client presentations - and coordinate with district communications teams to execute
  • Conduct focus groups to understand what students and parents are looking for in the school meal program and identify areas for improvement
  • Assess the front-of-house operations for the student experience, operating standards, and signature programs being in place, and work with operators to monitor results and improve over time
  • Collect data and report on return on investment and key performance metrics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2nd or 3rd year marketing student
  • Marketing experience preferred
  • Ability to present to large groups
  • Knowledge of merchandising and promotions
  • Excellent writing skills

This is a paid intern position; however, it is not eligible for paid time off (PTO) or benefits such as medical, dental, vision, etc.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company's behalf will be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
