Job description

Indiana Sports Corp provides internship opportunities that immerse students in a professional working environment while introducing them to the not-for-profit industry. Internships are available based on business needs and can include event and volunteer operations; communications; marketing; graphic design; community engagement; sports tourism; business development; and finance. ISC's fast paced and entrepreneurial working environment offers each intern a rich experience within his/her chosen area; however, interns are exposed to all functional areas of the company to reinforce the important role collaboration plays in a successful company.
Position Overview
The Community & Engagement Intern will be specifically focused on grassroots promotional and community outreach efforts to raise awareness, increase engagement, and share opportunities related to our future events. The intern will gain knowledge and experience through managing promotional inventory, creating a promotional plan, and developing face-to-face engagement strategies, executing tasks related to our individual membership program, assisting with the development of our overall engagement strategy and coordinating event logistics.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support promotional booths and engagement activities at key events.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of marketing and engagement strategies, including follow-up plans for event participants and community members.
  • Assist with youth programming during major events such as clinics, educational opportunities, etc.
  • Support the below pillars with ongoing year-around programming and impact moments.
  • Create and support promotional content aligned with community engagement pillars: Swim IN Safety, Team Up for Literacy, Community Vibrancy, and Access to Support.
  • Collaborate with the engagement team on grant opportunities and year-round programming, with an emphasis on youth-serving organizations.
  • Develop communication tactics to promote events to partners, community members, and attendees.
  • Assist with event marketing efforts, including fundraisers and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Support administrative functions such as attending meetings, scheduling follow-ups, drafting proposals, and maintaining organization of promotional materials and inventory.

Qualifications
  • Available to work events as needed on weekends or evenings
  • Must be currently pursuing or have recently earned a degree from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program

Internship Details
Term: January 19th, 2027 - May 7th, 2027
Schedule: 4-5 days per week (approximately 30-40 hours/week)
Stipend: $2000
Location: On-site - Indianapolis, Indiana. Relocation or housing is not available
