Essential Functions:The Program Specialist develops and manages special programs such as the Arts in Medicine program which aims to provide an environment of creativity and offers patients and families the opportunity to participate in creative and sensory activities during the hospital experience.
Encourages and engages children, families, and staff through interactive art, music, visual, or sensory experiences. Develops a range of individualized and/or group activities based on the needs of the population served and according to patient abilities, developmental, cognitive and/or age-based needs. Mentors and supervises volunteers assisting with the activities.

Job Qualifications:

Experience:1 year Experience working in a non-profit and/or healthcare environment with children and families; 2 years' Experience in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related art field; Coursework in Child Development preferred

License/Certification:BLS certification through the American Heart Association and CPI Training
