Position Summary
Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept
Portland State University is Oregon's most innovative, diverse, and affordable public research university, located in one of the nation's most desirable places to live, and the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science is your testing ground for putting new ideas into action. We believe in involving everyone-from freshmen to faculty to community-in solving the problems facing our region and our world.
Maseeh College includes five departments, 132 faculty members, and more than 2,700 students. We offer academic programs that provide transformative opportunities within the classroom and beyond. Our faculty includes six National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award winners and two members of the National Academy of Engineering. When you join our college, you'll be at the heart of an intellectually-challenging, personally rewarding, and purposefully inclusive environment, connected to Portland's "silicon forest," a nexus of growing, innovative industries and agencies.
Position Summary
The K14 Workforce Program Manager is responsible for the coordination of pre-college preparation initiatives and the development of K-14 partnerships. These efforts are designed to align with the strategic workforce areas identified by the Maseeh College.
This is a grant funded position driven by two major funding milestones, serving as Oregon's higher education partner in the NNME-funded PINES network and a $1 million grant to expand semiconductor career pathways through the state of Oregon. We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and collaborative professional to drive these initiatives forward. Based in the Maseeh College Dean's Office, this role will serve as the operational backbone for our semiconductor and microelectronics grant portfolios, with the opportunity to continue past this grant with new funding secured.
Serving as a crucial bridge between Maseeh College, K-12, and community college partners, this role drives dual-credit curriculum alignment, manages formal articulation agreements, and acts as a primary district liaison with deep insight into CTE pathways and school operations. The position actively coordinates workforce initiatives working with regional STEM hubs and nonprofit partners to promote high-demand semiconductor and engineering careers. Operationally, the coordinator provides end-to-end grant project management, fiscal tracking, and administrative support while overseeing teacher professional development, high school summer camps, and college internships. Additionally, the role maintains transparent communication across education and community stakeholders through strategic marketing, website maintenance, and media content collection.
This position is an exceptional fit for a former Career and Technical Education (CTE) or engineering teacher, career counselor, or educational pathway specialist. The ideal candidate deeply understands K12 district ecosystems, community colleges, and knows how to guide students toward high-wage technical careers, and possesses the pedagogical or advisory insight needed to align high school coursework with college-level credit.
This is a 1.0 FTE grant funded position, reporting to the Assistant Dean for Inclusive Innovation.
In accordance with the AAUP collective bargaining agreement this position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M06dEVNc5Um7oaxRBeZvfQd2dtC6L4jS/view
