The Economic Development Intern will work with Economic Development Managers and the Assistant Project Manager to:

  • Support economic development projects, site evaluations, and lead generation with the goals of generating new jobs, capital investment, and increased tax base for the communities Duke Energy Florida serves while encouraging revenue and load growth for the company to the benefit of Duke Energy Florida customers.
  • Assist with project responses & site visits.
  • Assist with the coordination of meetings & events, and economic development partner outreach.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of lead generation strategy utilizing research and IT platforms.
  • Provide storm role support if needed.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's or master's in Business, Communication, Education, International Business, International Affairs, Economics, or Marketing with a graduation date after August 2027.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Desired Qualifications

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility. Reliable, consistent transportation is required to ensure timely arrival at the applicable facility.
  • 15-hour work week
  • Position will be located in High Springs, FL.
