Summary Statement Lead Boise's public art initiatives from initial concept to final installation, coordinating plans, timelines, resources, and partners in collaboration with Public Works and Arts & History. Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Bachelor's degree in art or business administration or a related field and 6 years of experience working in project management and/or municipal art programs, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Essential Functions Performs highly complex and specialized tasks requiring considerable judgement, independent analysis and decision making. Provides leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. Leads the planning, coordination and delivery of public art projects for the Public Works Department in collaboration with the Department of Arts & History Public Art team.
Develops project strategies, determines project scope, methodology, requirements, feasibility, schedules and resource needs. Manages projects through all phases of implementation and evaluates project outcomes. Manages procurement and contract administration activities for public art projects, including preparing solicitation documents, coordinating artist selection processes, facilitating proposal evaluations, negotiating contracts, monitoring consultant and artist performance and ensuring compliance with city policies, procurement requirements and applicable regulations.
Administers project budgets, schedules, contracts and project documentation by tracking expenditures, deliverables, milestones, approvals and timelines. Identifies project risks, resolves issues, recommends solutions and communicates project status to leadership and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Serves as the primary liaison between artists, contractors, city departments, regulatory agencies and community stakeholders.
Facilitates meetings, builds collaborative partnerships, coordinates project activities and represents the program through professional presentations, reports and public engagement efforts. Supports the continuous improvement of public art program by developing and refining project management practices, procedures and documentation. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance stakeholder experience and strengthen coordination across departments while supporting implementation of the Public Works Arts Master Plan.

Requirements Additional Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Knowledge of: principles and practices in administration, planning, budgeting and organization; the art/design field and/or public art; organization of department operations, services and policies; related financial rules, regulations, laws and procedures; and computer usage including related software.
Ability to: interpret and explain governing regulations, policies and procedures; consolidate information from various sources into a prescribed format; facilitate group meetings; plan, design and organize projects effectively; demonstrate strong attention to detail; perform essential functions independently or in a team environment; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation. Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record. Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training Master's degree in arts administration or a related field; 9 years of experience working in for-profit, non-profit, and/or municipal art programs.
