Job description

Position Title: Logistics coordinator

Duration: 01-02 Months with possibility of extension

Location: Fresno CA 93711

Shift hours: Sunday – Thursday 9:30 am – 5:30 pm

Job Summary:

The logistics coordinator will use routing software to integrate new customers and vendors into existing routes in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Plan and implement re-routes ensuring all routes remain cost-effective, scheduled/unscheduled orders and backhauls at prescribed timelines utilizing the most efficient method available.

Create and maintain current vendor and carrier files that include current liability insurance documentation; monitor and manage all 3PL freight relationships, encourage improved performance, and process freight claims.

Duties:

Develop positive relationships with freight and external logistics companies.

Lead weekly logistics status meetings to inform stakeholders.

Investigate and recommend optimal shipping options and coordinate with vendors.

Coordinate and communicate with external parties to ensure acquisition and delivery of shipments. Ensure shipping compliance with state, federal, and international regulations.

Qualification:

Typical years’ experience in field of 3-5 years.

Knowledge of DOT rules & regulations

Proficient with routing software

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred; A year of logistics coordinator or related experience
