Lake Forest School District 115 is seeking a Communications Intern for the 2026-2027 school year.
Description: The communications intern does job duties that are under the Director of Communications. The internship is 15-20 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Currently a student enrolled in a communications program.
- Interested in working collaboratively with students, faculty, parents and administrators in the school setting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and logistics for community engagement events
- Write press releases, journalistic stories, invitations, and social media posts
- Build and maintain relationships with local partners, vendors, parent organizations, school administrators, and civic leaders
- Take pictures and create videos for use on social media, websites, etc.
- Provide general administrative and event support
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth through reflection and collaboration
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by direct supervisor
Competencies:
- Demonstrates ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team
- Proficient use of Google Suite
- Outstanding communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including a positive, problem-solving, and service minded attitude
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Demonstrates attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to generate creative ideas in a collaborative manner
- Maintains confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Adheres to Board of Education policies and procedures
Stipend: $20.00/Hour
