Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Facilities Operations, performs general facility repairs, venue maintenance, and minor carpentry work for the campus football stadium, press box, concession areas, surrounding athletic grounds, and associated campus facilities.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform minor repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices in stadium restrooms, locker rooms, and concession facilities.
  • Perform minor repairs and/or replacement of electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances as required.
  • Perform minor carpentry work as required to repair windows, doors, furniture, press box fixtures, and stadium seating or signage structures.
  • Prepare materials lists for work orders and estimate time required for jobs.
  • Hang sheetrock/wallboard and apply tape and spackling compound to achieve a finished paintable surface.
  • Hang doors and perform lock or hardware maintenance.
  • Replace damaged ceiling tiles and floor tiles.
  • Perform concrete, masonry, and walkway repairs throughout the stadium facility and concourse area.
  • Assist with event set-ups, game-day facility preparation, post-game breakdown, and moving furniture or stadium equipment.
  • Serve on University committees as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
  • Routine assignments are performed independently following University and departmental policies and procedures.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
  • Works independently using own judgment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS
  • Able to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.

  • Three years of experience in the building maintenance or venue facility maintenance field.
  • Must be familiar with general building maintenance trades.
  • Ability to operate power saws, drills, grinders, sanders, and other power hand tools connected with the maintenance and carpentry trade.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening, weekend, or game-day schedules as needed.
  • May be required to lift, push, or pull up to 70 lbs.
  • May be exposed to chemicals, mechanical, or electrical hazards. May be exposed to dust, fumes, or odoriferous working conditions.
  • May be required to work outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Employee is required to wear protective clothing or devices.
