What you get to do:
As our Director of Communications, you will be an enthusiastic advocate for the SeaWorld message and vision. You'll reinforce our commitment to providing guests with positive experiences and memories that last a lifetime. You'll also promote our passion for conserving our environment and preserving marine life for generations to come. We need you to:
  • Strategize and lead a robust communications initiative
  • Evangelize the Busch Gardens and Adventure Island parks message to a variety of audiences
  • Provide proactive and responsive media relations management across all parks
  • Develop strategic communications content plans to drive positive reputation, park attendance and add value to brand promise
  • Lead issue management process
  • Serve as company spokesperson as needed for media responses, on-camera interviews, etc.
  • Deliver high-level strategic communication solutions
  • Oversee and guide park-based communications managers
  • Develop and lead communications training and interview preparation for internal spokespeople
  • Hire, inspire and develop an exceptional communications team
  • Lead and manage Social Media, Content and PR Teams.
  • Incorporate best practices into communications strategy
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, vendors and our guests

What it takes to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, PR or a related field
  • At least 5 years of high-level communications experience
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience
  • Experience in the travel, hospitality or entertainment industries
  • Proven success developing a centralized communications model
  • Experience interfacing with NGOs and other advocacy groups
  • Understanding of influencers and influencer marketing
  • A background in corporate social responsibility is a plus
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills, a strong media relation background, and the ability to work well under pressure.
