Job Profile Summary

BofA Commodity Technology seeks a Senior Technology Manager to manage a 10–15‑person engineering team supporting the global Commodities Index desk. The leader partners directly with traders, sales, and quantitative research to design, build, and evolve the commodity index platform—primarily within our proprietary Quartz platform. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in commodity index and derivatives with a track record of delivering complex, distributed systems.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees to address feedback and achieve performance goals.
  • Facilitate performance and career development through reviews, coaching, and development plans.
  • Manage solution delivery and application performance in production, ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met.
  • Manage relationships with business and technology partners and lead Communities of Practice.
  • Contribute to the technology strategy for the technical domain.
  • Create an inclusive and healthy working environment and resolve organizational impediments.
  • Ensure execution aligns with product strategy by working with product management and stakeholders.
  • Lead and grow a high‑performing team of 10–15 engineers: coach, set goals, and cultivate a collaborative, front‑office–centric culture.

  • Ensure production excellence: monitoring, alerting, incident response, root‑cause analysis, capacity planning, release management, and change control.

Required Qualifications

  • Communication: presence and clarity to engage senior stakeholders, translate requirements, and negotiate priorities.
  • Domain Expertise: deep knowledge of commodity index construction, derivatives, curve dynamics, spreads, calendars, seasonality, and risk sensitivities.
  • Risk Systems: hands‑on experience building real‑time risk/pricing and analytics platforms; strong grasp of PnL, VaR, stress, scenarios, intraday limits, and pre‑trade checks.
  • Quartz / Python / ReactJS: extensive development experience with Python for distributed services/analytics (ideally in Quartz) and ReactJS for trader‑focused UIs.
  • Agile Development: CI/CD, automated testing, code review, secure coding, and change management in a regulated environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • C#/.NET for legacy components and migration strategy.
  • Experience with commodities venues and data (ICE, CME, LME, Bloomberg/Refinitiv) and pricing libraries.
  • Prior hands‑on work with quant libraries and collaboration with quants.
  • Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum Education Requirements

Pay range $135,900.00 - $220,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on performance. This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan and is currently benefits eligible.
