Work with performance staff to turn lab activities and assessments into technical YouTube videos, short-form content, and educational resources.
Collaborate with coaches and scientists to develop content ideas, including researching topics, creating concepts, and designing titles and thumbnails.
Translate technical biomechanical and data science information into engaging, digestible content for athletes, parents, and coaches.
# Sports Performance Content Specialist — Liquid Sports Lab
## ABOUT LIQUID SPORTS LAB
Liquid Sports Lab is a sports performance and analytics company based in Rochester, NY. We combine biomechanics, force plate testing, and data science to help athletes — from youth players chasing the next level to college and professional athletes — train smarter, move better, and stay healthy.
We believe in telling athletes the truth, doing the hard work, and building relationships that last well beyond a single season. If that's the kind of organization you want to represent, you'll feel at home here.
As our Sports Performance Content Specialist, you'll work directly with our performance staff to turn what happens in the lab — pitching development, force plate assessments, biomechanics breakdowns, goalie testing — into technical YouTube videos, short-form content, and educational resources that genuinely help the athletes, parents, and coaches who look to us for guidance.
---
## THE OPPORTUNITY
This is not a "show up and hit record" role.
This is a collaborative role where you extract and mold content ideas from our coaches and performance scientists into easily consumable content for the athlete development world — the kind of content that would have made a difference in your own playing career.
The content we produce spans multiple verticals: baseball pitching and hitting development, athlete assessment and force plate testing, goaltender development, and the data science behind all of it.
This role is focused on collaborating with our performance team to bring top-tier educational content to life. The content will be technical, specific, and built for an audience that knows the difference between good training information and bad training information.
To do this job well, you need to understand the game, not just the camera.
You know what gyro degree means. You know why induced vertical break matters. You know what a countermovement jump tells a coach about an athlete, and you'd know how to take a conversation with a biomechanist and package it into something clickable, digestible, and relevant for our audience.
You'll be in rooms with sharp performance minds — biomechanists, strength coaches, and data scientists. Your job is to translate what they know into genuinely useful long-form and short-form content that pushes forward our mission: giving athletes the information and resources to reach their potential.
That means leading with fresh ideas, not just execution. You won't be on camera, but your fingerprints will be on everything we put out.
If you're looking for a role where someone hands you a script and you press record, this is not that.
If you're looking for ownership, creative latitude, and the chance to build the content engine of a fast-growing performance brand from the ground up, this is worth a conversation.
---
## WHO THIS IS FOR
- You played baseball or another sport at the college level or higher, and you still follow the space because you're genuinely interested in it, not because it's your job
- You understand pitch design, basic biomechanics, and why a coach might care about induced vertical break or force plate asymmetries. You don't need to be an expert, but you need the baseline
- Social media, content, or video production experience is a strong plus — you've edited long-form video and know your way around Final Cut Pro or Premiere
- You lead with ideation. You're thinking about the hook, the title, and the thumbnail before the camera ever rolls
- You understand what makes content perform across YouTube and short-form platforms
- You have a broader marketing eye — you can think about Instagram strategy, website content, and promo material without being prompted
- You're a go-getter. You come with ideas, not just availability
- Familiarity with Rapsodo, TrackMan, VALD (ForceDecks, ForceFrame), or motion capture technology is a real plus
- You're a perfectionist who can take a project from start to finish without hand-holding
- You have high attention to detail — you obsess over putting out great work and don't rely on others to catch mistakes or apply the final polish
---
## WHAT WE OFFER YOU
- Full creative collaboration with Liquid Sports Lab's performance staff — direct access to biomechanists, coaches, and data scientists doing genuinely differentiated work
- A ground-floor content operation with real room to grow — you'll shape the voice and strategy of the brand, not inherit someone else's playbook
- Autonomy to bring ideas to the table and see them through
- A training and testing facility in Rochester, NY built around force plates, biomechanics capture, and athlete assessment
- A clear path to expanded scope and responsibility as the brand scales
---
## WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
### Responsibilities
- Drive the ideation process alongside coaches and performance staff: researching topics, building concepts, writing hooks, developing titles and thumbnails before the camera rolls
- Edit long-form educational YouTube content and cut it into high-performing short-form clips
- Manage posting, scheduling, and community across platforms as needed
- Analyze content performance and use it to improve what we do next
- Contribute to broader marketing efforts: promo videos, Instagram strategy, website content, and lead magnets across Liquid Sports Lab, Speed Lab Roc, and Liquid Prime
- Stay current on trends in athlete development and content strategy
### Results
- Content goes out consistently, on time, and at a standard the audience notices
- Ideation is proactive — coaches and staff are never waiting on concepts
- Short-form clips perform and grow the audience on every platform, measured primarily by saves and follower growth
- Long-form content consistently drives interest in Liquid Sports Lab's services — measured by attributable clicks, leads, and sign-ups
- Content performance data is tracked and actually used to make decisions
- Liquid Sports Lab becomes a go-to educational resource in athlete development
### Requirements
- Playing experience at the college level or above, with a strong player development background
- Social media, content, or video production experience preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro a plus
- Understanding of YouTube and short-form content best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with social media scheduling platforms and analytics a plus
