Summary: Cleans, stocks, and sanitizes guest rooms, Park Models, storage rooms, administrative offices, and public spaces within the Hotel and RV Park’s area of assignment.

The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Strips linens, trash, cups, glasses, room service dishes, and other guest loan items from guestrooms and ensures the linens get to the laundry in a timely manner.
  • Makes beds with clean linen; cleans bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces.
  • Dust furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves.
  • Replenishes guest room and bathroom amenities, linens, and supplies; vacuums rooms, empties trash, and cleans ashtrays.
  • Assists with deep cleaning of rooms and periodic cleaning projects when necessary.
  • Washes guestroom windows, windows, and doors in public spaces, and administrative offices.
  • Maintains all public areas such as the main lobby, administrative offices, RV office and clubhouse, business conference area, vending machine rooms, elevator lobbies, stairwells, and hallways.
  • Inspects room for cleanliness and appearance and signifies the completion of room on the daily assignment sheet.
  • Records and reports maintenance problems found in guestrooms.
  • May operate dishwasher to clean and sterilize glassware used in guestrooms.
  • May operate cleaning equipment such as carpet extractors.
  • Participates in special cleaning projects and deep cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Respond to general inquiries and provide guest assistance.
  • Cleans up spills and bio-hazardous materials.

Required Knowledge of:

  • Housekeeping processes and procedures.
  • Regulations and standards governing housekeeping work.
  • Cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Safety protocols relative to the handling of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.

Required Skill in:

  • Determining the difference between clean and dirty areas.
  • Performing cleaning techniques.
  • Communicating both orally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and six (6) months cleaning work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • High-security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of or receive, certain health vaccinations.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in an office, Park Model Homes, and hotel environment with frequent exposure to tobacco smoke.
  • Work is subject to frequent standing and walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Work is subject to frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally exposed to blood and bodily fluids.
  • Frequently exposed to hazardous cleaning materials and chemicals.
  • Will be required to pass a pre-employment physical.

Equipment and Tools Utilized:

  • Equipment utilized includes standard office equipment, telephone, materials, supplies, and tools used in cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, office and lobby spaces, audio/video equipment, two-way radio, carts, vacuums, and other tools necessary to perform cleaning duties.
