Job description

Talented Vet Tech and Team Player

Scripps Ranch Veterinary Hospital is an established and growing 3-doctor private practice located in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood of San Diego. We have an opening for an experienced, friendly RVT Veterinary Technician to join our fun and dedicated team.

We mean it when we tell our clients that their pets are family, and we’re dedicated to exceptional care, service and education. The successful candidate will:

  • Active California RVT license in good standing (required)
  • Proven experience performing dental extractions , including surgical extractions, gingival flaps, and multi-rooted teeth (required)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience as a licensed RVT in a small animal general practice or specialty setting
  • Strong proficiency in dental procedures , including dental radiography (full-mouth series), charting, scaling, polishing, and regional nerve blocks
  • Experience with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery for dental and surgical patients
  • Skilled in patient restraint, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and laboratory procedures (bloodwork, cytology, urinalysis)
  • Comfortable assisting with general surgery, radiology (digital X-rays), and emergency care
  • Excellent client communication and education skills, with the ability to discuss treatment plans, dental health, and post-operative care
  • Team-oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail in medical record-keeping
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying current with best practices in veterinary dentistry and patient care
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and fellow team members 
  • Have a great sense of humor and the ability to be graceful under pressure
