Job description

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a knack for fixing things? Fawley Overhead Door at our Portage location and our second location in Dowagiac, MI, is seeking a talented Service Technician to join our team. With a competitive hourly salary ranging from $21 to $26 + Commission pay, this position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your technical skills.

As an Installer Technician, you will be responsible for the installation of new garage door openers, new construction garage doors, and new homeowner remodel garage doors while providing top-notch quality to each customer you interact with. You will be asked to load new garage doors and transport them throughout the entire Southwest Michigan area to install and complete.

Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus if you have prior garage door technician experience.

Compensation- $21 - $26 hourly + Commission + Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000 (Experience-Based)

Compensation:

$21 - $28 hourly + Commission Based on Experience


Responsibilities:
  • Attend meetings, follow all company policies, and participate in decision-making

  • Use software to take notes, create quotes, and send invoices

  • Attend appointments within the window that has been given to the client

  • Proficiently install new commercial garage doors and commercial openers at all types of residences throughout the Southwest Michigan area


Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate

  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring and connections

  • Must be able to use a measuring tape along with math and problem-solving skills

  • Mechanically inclined

  • You must have excellent customer service skills for this position

  • Must have great communication, listening, and teamwork skills

  • Preferred: prior trades skills and working trades history
