Job description

Embedded Systems Engineer
This engagement will support standing up a dedicated edge-compute environment for a new LiDAR ground-truth pipeline, operating alongside their existing vehicle edge platform. Our engineer will lead board-level bring-up, BSP development, driver integration, and low-level platform work - partnering closely with the Perception & Sensor Fusion Engineer, who owns sensor calibration, synchronization, and the perception logic running on top of the platform.
What You'll Do

  • Design and stand up a dedicated edge-compute unit, potentially using an NVIDIA Orin-class platform, to support LiDAR and multi-sensor processing.
  • Own board support package (BSP) bring-up and driver modifications required for camera, LiDAR, and other vehicle sensor integration.
  • Implement OS- and microprocessor-level functionality supporting millisecond-level multi-sensor time synchronization.
  • Support on-device storage and upload infrastructure for captured sensor data.
  • Collaborate closely with perception, platform, and OS engineering teams on hardware/software integration.
  • Develop and validate functionality using mock or synthetic sensor data during initial development.
What You'll Bring
  • Strong C/C++ experience, including low-level driver development and BSP/board bring-up on embedded or edge hardware.
  • Experience bringing up and developing on RTOS, embedded Linux, QNX, or similar operating systems on ARM-based or comparable platforms.
  • Experience working in resource-constrained, real-time edge-compute environments.
  • Hands-on experience with camera, LiDAR, radar, IMU, or other sensor integration at the embedded/platform level.
  • Prior experience within automotive, ADAS, autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones, or another sensor-intensive autonomous system.
  • Strong hardware/software debugging and systems-integration experience.
  • Ability to work North American business hours with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus Experience
  • Direct experience with LiDAR integration at the BSP or driver level.
  • Experience supporting ADAS, autonomous-driving, perception, or sensor-fusion platforms.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Orin, DRIVE, or similar edge-compute platforms.
  • Experience with multi-sensor time synchronization, hardware timestamping, PTP/PPS, or related technologies.
  • Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones, or industrial collision-avoidance/safety systems.
