Lead Generation Specialist – Inside Sales to Field Sales – DC Power

We are looking for an Inside Sales / Lead Generation Representative to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is comfortable talking with people on the phone, enjoys sales, and wants to build a long-term career in the DC power and telecommunications industry.

Your initial focus will be outbound phone prospecting and generating qualified leads. You will contact potential customers, introduce our services, identify opportunities, and schedule appointments for our field team.

But this position is more than a phone-based lead generation role. As you gain experience, you will have the opportunity to go into the field alongside our technicians and sales professionals, learn the business firsthand, understand customer needs and job-site operations, and develop the skills needed to eventually move into a field sales position.

What You'll Do

• Make outbound cold calls to prospective customers and businesses
• Identify potential sales opportunities and generate qualified leads
• Build relationships with prospects and customers over the phone
• Explain our services and determine customer needs
• Schedule appointments for field technicians and sales representatives
• Maintain accurate records of calls, leads, customer information, and follow-ups using computer software
• Follow up with prospects and existing leads to move opportunities forward
• Work closely with our field technicians and sales team
• Participate in field visits to learn our equipment, services, customers, and sales process
• Learn the DC power industry, including battery systems and related equipment
• Gradually develop the knowledge and skills necessary to transition into a field sales role
• Work as part of a team to help grow the business and improve customer service

What We're Looking For

Previous DC power or telecommunications experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person.

• Is comfortable making outbound phone calls and speaking with new people
• Has a strong interest in sales and building customer relationships
• Is motivated by hourly pay plus commission
• Is confident, persistent, and able to handle rejection professionally
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Is organized and able to follow up consistently
• Can use a Windows computer and basic computer software
• Has strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Is willing to learn technical products and services
• Works well in a fast-paced team environment
• Is interested in eventually moving from inside sales/lead generation into field sales

About the Work

Our technicians work with DC power and battery systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment readings, and job-site operations.

The field portion of your training will give you an opportunity to see this work firsthand and understand what our customers need. Some field travel may be required as you progress through the training and sales development process.
