Atlassian

Job description

Overview:

Working at Atlassian

Atlassians can choose where they work – whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.

About DX

DX is the developer intelligence platform. We help engineering leaders understand how work gets done, improve developer experience, and make better decisions about productivity and AI. DX combines self-reported insights from developers with data from the systems where software work happens, then turns those signals into insights teams can act on.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead DX’s Self-Reported Insights portfolio, including Snapshots, PlatformX, Studies, and Benchmarks.

These products help organizations understand developers’ experiences directly: what is helping them do their best work, what is getting in their way, and where leaders should focus. You will set the direction for how DX helps customers ask the right questions, earn meaningful participation, interpret the results, compare their performance, and turn feedback into action.

This is a senior individual-contributor role for a PM who combines deep knowledge of surveys and developer experience with strong product judgment. You will independently own the vision, prioritized problems, and outcomes for a business-critical product area.

Responsibilities:

What you’ll do

  • Set the vision, strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes for DX’s Self-Reported Insights portfolio.

  • Build a deep understanding of developer experience leaders, engineering executives, platform teams, and the developers who participate in surveys and studies.

  • Create a coherent product experience across Snapshots, PlatformX, Studies, and Benchmarks.

  • Translate survey methodology, customer feedback, and developer experience research into products that are rigorous, approachable, and actionable.

  • Improve the end-to-end customer journey, from study design and participation through analysis, benchmarking, communication, and follow-through.

  • Shape ambiguous opportunities with lightweight specs, prototypes, and clear written context before the team commits to a solution.

  • Know how the portfolio is performing across usage, adoption, retention, and satisfaction; investigate changes and turn what you learn into product decisions.

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Design, customer-facing teams, and go-to-market leaders on discovery, pilots, launches, documentation, and positioning.

  • Spend significant time with customers and make sure the broader product team benefits from that context.

Compensation:

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. We follow consistent hiring practices and account for each candidate's skills, knowledge, and experience when setting base pay within the range.

Please visit go.atlassian.com/payzones for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. However, please confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Pay Ranges:

In The United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $168,300 - $219,725

Zone B: $151,470 - $197,753

Zone C: $139,689 - $182,372

Qualifications:

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of independently owning an important product area.

  • Deep understanding of surveys, self-reported data, feedback systems, or research products.

  • Strong understanding of developer experience as a discipline and the challenges faced by developer productivity and platform teams.

  • Ability to turn nuanced research concepts and messy human feedback into clear, useful product experiences.

  • Strong customer discovery, synthesis, prioritization, and written communication skills.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, moving quickly, and making pragmatic tradeoffs without sacrificing quality or customer trust.

  • Ability to define meaningful outcomes and use product data and customer evidence to guide decisions.

Nice to have

  • Product management experience on a developer experience, developer productivity, or platform team.

  • Experience building survey, employee experience, research, benchmarking, or qualitative-insights products.

  • Experience serving technical enterprise customers.

  • Experience in a fast-growing startup or developer-tooling company.

  • Firsthand experience using DX as a customer.

How Product works at DX

PMs at DX act as the compass and context engine for their product area. You will own product direction, prioritized problems, and outcomes; your Tech Lead partner will own sequencing, technical scope, and quality. We expect PMs to stay close to customers, synthesize context for the team, sprint ahead on ambiguous work with lightweight specs and mockups, and increase the team’s speed of learning. We default to pragmatic, async written work rather than unnecessary process.
