The Tabor Hill Lounge Tasting Room Tasting Consultant is responsible for delivering an engaging, educational, and personalized wine tasting experiences. This role blends wine knowledge, storytelling, and consultative sales to convert tastings into retail purchases and long-term guest relationships.Key Responsibilities
• Lead guided wine tastings and private tasting experiences
• Educate guests on wine varietals, regions, and production methods
• Share winery and brand stories in an engaging and approachable manner
• Deliver personalized recommendations to drive bottle and case sales
• Promote wine club memberships and explain member benefits
• Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals
• Pour wines accurately and responsibly
• Prepare tasting flights and maintain clean tasting stations
• Operate POS system for tastings, wine, and merchandise
• Maintain organized and visually appealing retail displays
• Restock wine inventory and tasting room supplies
• Support wine club events, private tastings, and special programming
• Participate in training and ongoing wine education
Qualifications
Required:
• Experience in hospitality, wine service, retail, or sales
• Strong communication and guest engagement skills
• Proven ability to sell confidently and authentically
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40–50 lbs
Preferred:
• Wine club or retail sales experience
